How is a spagyric tincture different from normal tinctures? PDF Print E-mail

While a normal tincture comprises of a simple extraction process, whereby the plant is immersed in alcohol providing a stable extract; spagyric tinctures take the process to a much deeper level. Spagyrism refers to a process and philosophy used by people often referred to as alchemists. The process considers a myriad of aspects including the time of day the plant is picked, the time of month it is processed and even the state of mind of the herbalist making the essence. Making a spagyric essence also includes a number of additional steps to that of the conventional tincture making process. Essentially the elements of the herb are separated and reunited into a herbal essence, the making of which is not so much a science as a way of life.
